Academic Plan
If this petition is granted, my plan is straightforward given that my circumstances were temporary rather than ongoing.
My immediate steps will be to contact the instructors of RELS 131 and HIST 125 to obtain their support and get caught up on any material covered since the start of term. I have already reviewed both course outlines and I am confident the workload is manageable alongside my existing three summer courses.
Looking ahead, my academic plan for the remainder of my degree is focused and deliberate. I am entering my final year in fall 2026 and am applying to graduate programs including the Master of Biotechnology at the University of Toronto. I am aware that my last 60 credits carry the most weight in my applications, and every course from this point forward is an opportunity to demonstrate the academic ability I know I have. Adding these two courses this summer is a direct part of that plan — not a reactive decision, but a proactive one.
To manage the stress that contributed to my delayed action, I intend to be more proactive in reviewing my academic standing and planning each semester well in advance. I am also in the process of connecting with an academic advisor to ensure my course selections going into fourth year align with both my degree requirements and graduate school goals.
I am not asking for relief from my responsibilities, I am asking for the opportunity to take them on.
