Petition Letter
I am requesting permission to complete more than 6.0 units through a Letter of Permission while temporarily residing in South Korea.
Over the past year, I have been on a leave from my studies due to significant mental health challenges that substantially affected my academic performance and overall well-being. During this period, I focused on recovery, rebuilding stability, and developing the skills and routines necessary to support a successful return to university studies.
While I have made meaningful progress, I believe that an immediate return to full-time, on-campus studies would not be the most sustainable approach at this stage. Remaining in South Korea for the Fall 2026 term will allow me to continue benefiting from the support of my family while gradually transitioning back into academic work.
My intention is not to delay my degree progression but to resume my studies in a responsible and successful manner. Completing courses through an approved institution during Fall 2026 would allow me to re-establish strong academic habits, rebuild confidence in my abilities, and demonstrate my readiness for a full return to Queen’s University.
I am therefore respectfully requesting permission to complete more than 6.0 units through a Letter of Permission. This flexibility would enable me to continue making academic progress while maintaining the stability and support that have been important to my recovery. I am committed to returning to Queen’s University in the Winter 2027 term and completing my Bachelor of Computing (Honours) degree.
Thank you for your consideration.
