Petition Letter
To Whom It May Concern,
Shortly after moving into shared housing in September, I began experiencing ongoing difficulties with my housemates that created a very stressful and unhealthy living environment. I was made out to be the scapegoat by the housemates, which included excessive name calling, silent treatment, yelling and passive aggressive behavior. Additionally the parents of the housemates lived in the house for days on end and would barge into my room unannounced. What should have been a place where I could focus on my studies, instead became a significant source of anxiety and emotional distress. The situation persisted for several months, and affected my ability to concentrate, manage coursework and perform academically. I remained in this environment until I was able to get alternative housing at the end of March.
Recognizing the impact these circumstances were on my wellbeing, I sought support from a counselor at the student wellness center, who provided guidance and support throughout the academic year. Despite my efforts to manage the situation and continue meeting my academic responsibilities, the ongoing stress significantly affected my academic performance.
I hope to be given the opportunity to continue my studies without losing another year. The challenges I experienced last year had a significant impact on my academic performance, which have been resolved and I am committed to moving forward with a clear plan for success.
Kind regards,
Liron Ashkenazi
