Academic Plan
if the Faculty allows me to continue my study this time, I will focus on stabilizing my learning state, reasonably controlling the course pressure and using the Faculty's support resources in a timely manner in the next year. In the past, my main problem was not that I had no learning ability at all, but that under long-term psychological pressure, family pressure and exam anxiety, my learning state was unstable. At the same time, I was not mature enough in course selection and time management, and sometimes I ignored the difficulty of the course and my own capacity at that time in order to recover the progress. Therefore, in the future, I will no longer blindly pursue taking many courses at once, but will give priority to ensuring that each course can be completed stably.
In terms of course selection, I will take the initiative to make an appointment with an Academic Advisor before the start of each semester to confirm the course selection, course arrangement and graduation progress with the advisor. I will read the syllabus of each course in advance to understand the course content, assessment method, prerequisite requirements and workload, and then make choices according to my interests, foundation and psychological state. For courses that have been repeatedly affected or difficult in the past, I will arrange a review plan in advance instead of waiting until the exam to concentrate on preparing. If the Faculty advises me to reduce the course load or continue to study in the form of probation, I am also willing to accept it and gradually bring the GPA back to the Faculty's requirements through a more stable course arrangement.
In terms of learning methods, I will make a weekly study plan from the first week of the semester, and divide reading, assignment, quiz and exam preparation into weekly tasks. I will use a calendar and a to-do list to record deadlines to avoid excessive pressure in the final stage due to anxiety or procrastination. For what I don't understand, I will continue to take the initiative to ask professors, TAs or classmates for advice as in the past year, and I will also use the learning strategies, writing, time management and exam preparation support provided by Student Academic Success Services to help myself build more stable learning habits.
In terms of mental health, I will continue to maintain psychological counseling and regular exercise. If I find myself having obvious anxiety, insomnia, decreased attention, low mood or panic before the exam again, I will contact the counselor, doctor or the relevant support department of the Faculty in time, instead of holding on until the situation worsens. I will also maintain a healthier communication boundary with my family to reduce the direct impact of family stress on learning. Now my communication with my family is more stable than in the past, and I have received more support. I believe this will help me complete my studies in a more stable state in the future.
