Academic Plan
Academic Plan
I am currently one assessment away from finishing both of my Spring 2026 IN courses, ANAT 100 and DEVS 230. Both assessments will be submitted this week. This will be well ahead of the June 30 deadline for ANAT 100 and the August 1 deadline for DEVS 230. I have been working on these courses while also keeping up with my Summer 2026 courses and preparing this petition. I have made a conscious effort to focus on meeting deadlines and doing well in all courses instead of rushing work to get it done and potentially hurting my grades.
I have changed my degree plan from 4yr Honours to 3yr general degree.
My Summer 2026 term has been going well. Two of my three courses, CHEM 281 and DEVS 102, are courses that I previously failed and am retaking to improve my GPA, and the grades are significantly higher than prior as seen in above petition. Both courses will replace failed grades on my transcript once completed. I have maintained A-level grades in both courses so far. CHEM 281 is finished this week aside from the final exam, and I continue to do well in my remaining summer courses while staying on top of deadlines and communicating with professors when needed.
Following Summer 2026, I have a clear and realistic plan to finish my degree. I only have one remaining core course and one elective planned for Fall 2026, followed by one final elective in Winter 2027. If everything continues as planned, I expect to graduate in Spring 2027.
If I am permitted to continue my studies, I will continue the supports that have helped me be successful since returning. I have already discussed continuing bi-weekly check-ins with my Academic Advisor, Jenna Kring and that has been agreed upon. I have also connected with Laurie Hooke through Queen's Mental Health and understand what supports are available if I need them. I remain registered with QSAS and continue to use accommodations and disability-related supports when needed, as well as contacting my advisor as needed.
I continue to attend therapy regularly (every Monday) outside of school and have intentionally made time in my schedule for studying and coursework (Mon-Fri, 2-9pm, Weekends) I am also aware of supports such as peer tutoring and will continue to use available resources when appropriate and demonstrated this year following into next.
I believe the biggest difference between now and the student I was before my Required to Withdraw period is that I now have a plan. I understand my limitations, I ask for help when I need it, I communicate with professors and support staff, and I make decisions based on long-term success rather than trying to manage everything on my own. These changes have allowed me to achieve the strongest academic results I have had at Queen's, and I am committed to continuing that progress through to graduation.
I will maintain this reduced courseload, given I only have 3 courses to complete following this summer. I expect my GPA will reach above threshold needed by end of Summer term, through calculations with academic advising.
