Petition Letter
Dear Academics Appealers,
My name is Kassandra Brioux and I am currently a second year student at Queen¿¿s University. As of right now I am in the Geology major plan. This, however, was not my original plan. I was hoping to get into the Environmental Science degree plan but, due to episodes of anxiety and depression during my first year, I was not able to obtain the required GPA I needed for the ENSC major. So instead I declared GEOL and I decided to do ENSC with a specialization in GEOL, but just switch into ENSC next year. My schedule did not agree and throughout the summer I struggled to find something that would coincide with the major I wanted and the specialization I wanted to do. I ended up coming to Queen¿¿s throughout my break and they helped me find a schedule that would work in the long run, I just had to give up ENSC courses this year and take them next year so everything would fit in the end. This year, however, my schedule is extremely busy. I haven¿¿t take physics or any math in a very long time and the geologies I am enrolled in are extremely demanding as well. They are hard to balance with personal issues I have as well, such as my still active anxiety, and because I decided to just switch to a minor, I don¿¿t need these really demanding courses. All they are going to do is bring down my GPA and over stress me to extent where it¿¿s hard to get the education I want. I was wondering if I could switch out from my GEOL232, GEOL221, and PHYS117 and replace it with CLST214-001 (2027), ENSC203-001 (2554) ¿¿ lab section ENSC203-004 (2560), and CHEM112-001(3422) ¿¿ lab section CHEM112-010 (3438). These classes are more towards my ENSC degree and they would help me obtain a better GPA as well in order to get my ENSC major next year.
This would be really appreciated. Thank you so much.
