Petition Letter
When I looked at my OSAP Summary for funds, I saw numbers well under the estimation (Estimations: 13 000 - 15 000, Summary page: 0 - 3000). I did a quick search on the OSAP website to look for answers. The OSAP website stated 2-3 back-to-back terms at the same school, same program 1 application. On top of this I asked a close friend from Ryserson, which also told me he only had to submit one application. I mistook the 1 application to be one for the whole school program. I thought that re-applying to OSAP was a mistake I've been making, and was somehow linked to the numbers I Saw on the OSAP Summary page.
Due to an outstanding balance, I could not enroll to classes during enrollment time, and was forced to enroll during open enrollment (August 25th) after borrowing money. Since CISC 365 had 2 labs conflicting with CISC 327, and only one non-conflicting lab that was full, I decided to wait on the waiting list. I assumed, that, as I did the first year, someone had made a mistake while enrolling. When it was one week prior to school (September 7th) I was getting desperate and asked Irene for help, but with no response. I then received an email of my new outstanding balance and account restriction on enrollment. The whole process of sorting things out took about 2 weeks in itself after I informed the registrar on the 13th. I sent an appeal for enrolling with a debt on the 23rd but with no response for a week. I went to the registrar's office directly on the 1st of October, to find out that the OSAP was accepted on the 24th. I emailed Irene again, and she told me to send an appeal.
All this can be seen through emails between myself (Joshua Lee), Patricia Acton and Angela Street.
PS. please fix this online appeal process, I've already had to make my appeal three times: once due to automatic time out, and once due to automatic cancellation of appeal. Since pressing on Scotiabank on payment options leads to the website and not the actual payment, I've put an extra 50 on my Queens account for you to withdraw.
