Petition Letter
I did not have any indication that I was performing poorly in the course CHEM 213. There was not any indication as the only marks I had received was from a single lab report and a few online problem sets. I was not able to drop the course before the official deadline due to not receiving midterm mark until after November 6 2015. This was the only indication that I was doing significantly poorly in this course and would not be able to pass with acceptable grades.
I am submitting this appeal to drop this course as it is not a requirement for my history major concentration, and this course will cause my gpa to drop significantly. Due to my other course, I am not able to give enough time to raising my grade in this course as my grades in my required history courses will greatly suffer. Dropping CHEM 213 will also help improve my mental health, which I am currently seeing a counselor for my high stress.
