Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean,
I am appealing to drop CISC P81 for the fall semester of 2015.
I am basing my appeal on the extenuating circumstances that I have been dealing with for the last couple of years. The disease is Keratoconus and it affects my eyesight. This disease limits my ability to study and learn in the classroom setting. I have attached two letters of documentation from my eye doctor and eye surgeon. These two letters outline the timeline of the surgery that I have had on my eye. Due to my circumstances I have not been able to adequately perform in this class.
My future plan for my achieving academic success is all based around improving my eyesight. The disease I have in my eyes limits the options I have to improve my eyesight. The only way to improve my eyesight is to wear hard contact lenses, however I still have to wait for the surgery that I had in my eye last fall to fully heal before I can start getting fitted for hard contact lenses. I plan on retaking CISC P81 this coming year once my eyesight has improved.
If there is any more information you need please to not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for your consideration,
Christopher Houston
