Petition Letter
To Associate Dean
Hello, how are you My name is David Cho, student 10056519. I am currently in bachelor of computing(honours). I switched from bachelor of science to computing this fall, almost as school started and was put in a waitlist in solus for my required courses for winter term. However it was noted to me today (Jan 6th 2016) that there was a mass email to computing students during summer, that if you are in higher years and is couldn't enroll into one of your required courses, you are to speak with the instructor. However this email was sent before I was in computing, and I did not know that I was supposed to contact the instructor. Now I am in a situation where I cannot take the courses I need for my degree.
I am currently 4th year, but taking 2nd year computing courses as I switched my program. I believe I that I made the right decision to switch into computing as I enjoy it a lot more, but my studies have been delayed due to my previous courses not being part of my degree plan. Now with this unfortunate event, it may be delayed even further as these courses are not offered during summer or fall and only during winter. I am also currently on student loan for full support of my studies, being granted around 13000 per year, already spending many extra years and wealth due to switches I made in my program. Could you take it into consideration and please allow the enrollment into these courses My grades have been improving each year (As fall term) and it would be a disappointment to not be in my courses because I did not receive information due to time schedule error by switching in.
I would be very grateful and appreciate the assistance in this matter if I could be enrolled into CISC 223 and CISC 221, so that I may be on track with the course offered each year so I do not have to stay even more extra years caused by my switch in program.
Thank you very much for reading this, and I hope I receive a positive answer.
Sincerely,
David Cho, 10056519
