Petition Letter
Dear Board of Appeals,
I am writing this letter to request permission to drop HIST 243 after the drop date deadline. My extenuating circumstances comes from a diagnosis of anxiety (often in the form of anxiety attacks), which I received from my doctor Donald Norris in late August 2015. Over the course of the 2015 fall semester, I struggled to maintain healthy work habits as a result of my anxiety, resulting in lower than desired performance in my classes. This term has also been a struggle mentally for me as well. I have been barely managing to keep up on my work requirements in my three third year politics courses, but HIST 243 has been especially difficult for me. My main focus this semester has been heavily on my required courses. Due to my anxiety and high workloads in my other courses, I was unsuccessfully able to provide a paper worth 55 for HIST 243. My doctor Donald Norris has prescribed me a daily dosage of 10mg Apo-Paroxetine, which has helped slightly with my issues, however the weeks leading up to my HIST 243 paper were quite stressful and anxiety-inducing. I am hoping that you consider my appeal for approval, and inform me with the next steps in the process. Let me know if you need anything more detailed from me.
