Petition Letter
Dear Dean Bernard,
I am writing this letter to appeal for an Aegrotat Standing in Health 237, DEVS 240 and GPHY 257. The doctors have determined that I have a severe concussion and will be 'completely incapacitated as regards to functioning at an academic level'. The concussion occurred March 25th, and has continued to affect me. I went to see the doctor on March 28th and he instructed me to rest with no reading, studying, physical activity or anything that requires too much focus. At the moment it is undetermined as to when I will be able to function at an adequate academic level. The doctor made it very clear that any undue focus will exacerbate the condition. I have exams coming up in these three courses within the next two weeks, and I am unable to study for them due to my concussion. I have finished 60 of these courses and wish to appeal and receive an Aegrotat Standing in them.
If there is anything else I should do in order to manage this difficult time in a way that demonstrates my commitment to my studies, please let me know. I am disappointed that I am unable to finish my year as I had hoped and as is expected.
