Academic Plan
I have prepared a viable academic plan to help ensure that the school year will be completed successfully. My proposed degree plan is to get accepted into the Three year BSc- Biochemistry program (BCHM-Z). I have completed most of the required core courses. My goal now is to increase my GPA so that I can be accepted into the plan. From my academic advising appointment with Haley at the end of the school year, I am considering on perhaps taking a lighter course load as well as retaking a couple of my chemistry courses . This summer, I am retaking STATS 263 to raise my GPA and fulfill the math units from the electives portion of the BCHM-Z plan. In the upcoming year I will be retaking two of the core chemistry courses, CHEM 212 and CHEM 223. Since I did well on the lab components of both of these courses, I will only need to focus on successfully completing the examinations. This is extremely beneficial as it would open up my time and allow me to focus on boosting my GPA and work on my mental well being. I will also keep an eye out for useful workshops run by Learning Strategies for tricks that have helped out other students and could possibly help me. To ensure that I don't repeat the same mistake in the future, I will also continue to focus on coping with my anxiety by setting up a regular check in schedule with Cathy Touzel from HCDS.I will also continue to practice the mindfulness and meditation techniques with my parents and by using the book recommended by HCDS. Focusing on my mental health, easing my course load, and regularly meeting with HCDS and academic advising throughout the year will help ensure that I don't repeat the same mistakes. This would allow me to complete the year successfully both academically and mentally.
Sincerely,
