Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean (Studies),
I am appealing to allow the addition of STATS 263 to my summer course load (2016).
I am aware that the add deadline for the summer semester has passed, but It would be very much appreciated if you could make an exception for my case. I am not appealing because I missed the deadline by accident, there wasn't any solution for me before the deadline had already passed. My main roadblock, was that I have already taken this class. I was in fact, on time with my attempt to add this course to my schedule, but there is a restriction on those who have already completed classes. You need to have the restriction reversed by an academic adviser which was not of my knowledge prior to my add attempt. Now, normally this would not have been much of an issue; however, I was out of town when trying to add the course and I had no way to return to Kingston to see an academic adviser until after the add deadline had already passed. I called in to see if I could talk to an academic adviser over the phone but was instructed to come in to gain approval in person. I have now seen an academic adviser who has instructed me to make an appeal in attempt get the restriction reversed. Also I have contacted Professor Molson to gain his approval. Shortly after I e-mailed him, he replied with his permission to enter the class.
Thank your very much for you consideration
