Academic Plan
Going forward, I plan to further leverage the resources that are provided by the University, i.e., the learning strategy center, and the writing center to enhance my academic capability. I am also thinking of attending summer courses or other similar training to improve my focus and concentration skills. Understanding I need to spend more time and energy than the average student to obtain a good grade until I get comfortable with exams, I plan to lower the total number of courses I take each semester. I want to dedicate the adequate amount of time to each class, and be able to do the readings ahead of the lecture in order to have a better understanding of the materials. Finally, to make sure I study using my full potential, I will set up regular counseling sessions to ensure that stress is not hindering my ability to study. I believe that I am capable of doing well academically as evident from my results in completing the International Baccalaureate program.
Please understand that my low GPA that led to my suspension does not indicate that I am a bad student, but really a good, hard-working student who is struggling with the transition from Hong Kong to Canada and the new exam culture. I hope you will give me an opportunity to demonstrate my full potential. Thank you for considering this appeal.
