Academic Plan
Going into first year university I was unsure of what courses to take so I did what I thought was the right thing to do was to ask around and see what people thought were good courses to take at Queens. I thought that because people recommended these courses they would be relatively easy and I would get by first year doing so. What I did not realize at the time was that I would be taking all theses courses meaning that I would be learning all the material form the course. Looking back on first year if there was one thing I could do all over again, it would be my course selection. Although I did have courses that were very interesting this year I did made some big mistakes with my overall course selection. I chose an all year elective that I had little interest in and I was stuck with it all year. If I had chosen courses better suited for me I believe that it would keep me motivated throughout the year and I would have set myself up for better academic success. If I were given the opportunity to go back to Queens this year I would take advantage of the services Queens offers to students like the Student Academic Success Services. I did not use any of these resources in first year and I believe that it would have helped me very much if I did.
