Academic Plan
While I am on my independent study abroad I will be missing mandatory courses to my Health Studies degree plan. These courses include HLTH 305 and HLTH 334 which are only offered in the Winter Semester. Although I will not be taking these courses in my third year they are not prerequisites to any of my mandatory fourth year courses. Due to this I can take these courses in the Winter 2018 semester during my fourth year. Anna van der Meulen, the undergraduate coordinator for Health Studies, has stated her support for me to travel abroad and believes that this would be an asset to my degree. Anna has also approved one of two modules that I will be taking at VIA University College; Module 1 (Social entrepreneurship, placement, innovative didactics and field work. Health promotion, living conditions and physical activity) of the Social Entrepreneurship program. Anna approved this module to transfer as 9.0 Health Studies credits. The remaining six credits will be transferred as elective credits as stated by Mary Marshall in the International Programs Office.
