Petition Letter
Hello again,
I was granted my earlier appeal this summer to write my final CHEM 281 exam this September, 2016 however, am now submitting a further appeal for an aegrotat standing in the course or a further extension. I am doing this as this summer my mother had passed away from ovarian cancer. It has been an extremely difficult last few months and with grieving a new loss as well as all of the disorder, paper work and chaos that come with it, I did not have time to prepare nor was I able to mentally. After speaking with Heather and Haley at the academic advising office, I realize extending the exam to a further date is not opportune however, if an aegrotat is not possible, I would like to do this as I have completed all of the coursework, assignments and midterms and this course is a requirement for my degree that needs to be satisfied in order for myself to graduate. I truly apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. I am trying my best to cope and direct my full attention to my studies now, so I hope you will consider. Thank you very much.
If there are any further documents or details needed, please let me know and I will get them to you as soon as possible.
Nicole
