Dear Dr. Bénard,
I am appealing for late enrolment into MUSC 224 Applied Study Voice. I was unaware that I was not registered in the course and I have been attending my weekly scheduled classes and practicing my take home assignments. I was informed by the School that I was not registered on October 13, 2016.
In September, 2015, the Dan School of Drama and Music registered me in MUSC 124 and I was under the impression that the procedure was the same again this year, that the School Office would take care of the registration. Furthermore, this course did not appear in my weekly class schedule on SOLUS in 2015-2016, so I did not think there was anything wrong when it did not appear again this year. I wasn't aware that I was not registered.
This course is incredibly important to me as I am very passionate about music. Studying voice has always been a very meaningful part of my life and I am so thankful that I get to continue my studies at Queens through this wonderful course. Additionally, singing lessons provide balance and a change of pace in my studies, which is highly beneficial to my mental health and overall well being. University presents many stressful situations and this course has helped me to manage this stress.
If my appeal is granted, I will ensure that in 2016-2017, I will register for MUSC 324 on SOLUS and confirm with my professor and the School that I am indeed registered.
