Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
I am writing to request to drop Chem 112 beyond the drop deadline. I understand that the deadline was on Friday, but at that time I felt that with the help of a chemistry tutor I could manage to complete the course. I have now reconsidered my decision. With the support of Tonya Bautermann, a counsellor at Student Wellness Services whom I spoke with this morning, I have realized that it is in my best interest to drop the course. I have fallen quite behind and I am fearful that I may fail or will most certainly do poorly on the mid-year exam. I have a lot going on in my personal life on top of my course load; I am in the process of finding an appropriate medication to deal with my generalized anxiety disorder. Adjusting to life away from home has proven more difficult than I had expected it to be. I think I would greatly benefit from having a lighter load in terms of courses and responsibilities, and I believe dropping the course at this point is a better option than having it negatively affect my GPA later on.
Sincerely,
Devon Cole
