Petition Letter
Appeal to the Associate Dean
To Whom It May Concern:
I am a third year Honours Psychology Student at Queen¿¿s University. I am writing you in order to gain permission to add a PSYCH 570 directed research course to my curriculum. Unfortunately, given the date that the documentation for this lab position was finalized with Professor Poppenk, I was unable to add the course to my schedule before the add/drop deadline. However I have been a member of the lab as of the second week of classes, and hope to continue my contributions.
Given the unique nature of this course, and the work that I have contributed to the program thus far, I am extremely interested in pursuing this opportunity. I have already gained so much from this lab environment, and this research experience is crucial to my development as a research Psychologist and provides preparation for my intensions to pursue a 4th year thesis project.
I hope that you will consider my request and allow me to add this course to my timetable, as I am continuing my participation and involvement with the lab as the semester progresses. In addition, I have attached the curriculum outline as established by my Professor.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
