Petition Letter
Please accept this letter of appeal in request to drop HIST200 after the deadline. Extenuating circumstances of medical illness, stress, anxiety, and a death in my immediate family accumulated to an inability of being able to properly study and successfully pass HIST200. Dealing with my illness of and focusing on pain management took away my ability to properly study for and pass HIST200. The majority of my daily focus was concentrated on dealing with my illness that it caused severe anxiety when trying to focus on school at the same time. The overwhelming anxiety caused a mental shutdown because I was not able to focus on my school work and my pain management at the same time. Towards the end of the semester the death of my grandfather contributed greatly to my anxiety and I was not able to fully focus on my required coursework which ultimately resulted in failing HIST200. I am now doing regular treatment with my health-care professional to work on my illness and pain management so that my future coursework does not become so affected.
