Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean of Studies:
I am appealing to be able to add the online summer course PSYCH 100 to my schedule so that I can take it as soon as possible. Unfortunately, I missed the registration deadline due to a significant family problem that affected my personal ability to function.
Our family is currently undergoing a very serious upheaval that has been emotionally destabilizing. Due to the stress and tension created by this sudden and unexpected situation that came to a head on Monday, April 24th, I was feeling very anxious. Because I was preoccupied by the family problems, I was not diligent and missed the course registration deadline. My ability to function was affected adversely for weeks.
I am currently in counselling to seek support in dealing with the family situation. I realize that the summer course is condensed and fast paced. However, I am prepared to catch up and work hard in order to succeed in the course.
I have included documentation from a professional as evidence to substantiate my problem.
I would appreciate a timely and favourable resolution so that I may enrol in the course as soon as possible in order not to miss any further course work.
