Petition Letter
I am appealing to drop the courses previously mentioned past the deadline due to a psychological challenge associated with addiction. Due to this psychological condition, I was unable to fully focus on my studies, and as a result was not able to study as well as I could have. This condition has affected me since the start of the second year of studies, but I am currently taking steps to cope with and eventually overcome this condition.
Recently I sought out help in the form of a counselor from Queen's Wellness Services. With the help of the counselor, I have a clear plan for my future studies and my overcoming of this psychological condition. At the moment I do not have supporting documentation of this psychological condition, but if possible I would prefer to have Tanya, my counselor, as a sort of reference.
As I was asked to withdraw from Queen's studies for a year, I plan to return in the Fall of 2018 to re-take my second year. However, with the current transcript and GPA, it would be very difficult for me to receive a high GPA due to the courses outlined previously. Therefore, I would like to have the courses dropped and if possible removed from my transcript entirely. It would be greatly beneficial to my future studies as I would be able to begin anew.
