Petition Letter
To the associate dean,
I am appealing the 21-day appeal deadline for my appeal to withdraw for one year from the Faculty of Arts and Science of Queen's University.
For the summer of 2014, I applied and got a job at Scotiabank¿¿s Global Wholesale Operations in the derivative settlements team. When I started, I was not aware that the job would be so difficult and tedious, but I was up for the challenge as it would be great experience and a very good addition to my CV. I soon learned that the department I was placed in was short staffed, so the work had been divvied up between fewer staff. The department receives a very high volume of work so for the entire summer, I had been working through my lunch and many hours of overtime. I worked long hours, waking up at 6 and not returning home until 8 on many occasions. I was very caught up in the work so I had lost track of checking my school email and in turn missed the deadline. Please consider my appeal for the requirement to withdraw.
Thank you,
Kevin Ruban
