Petition Letter
I am hoping to appeal the grades I received for courses from the 2015-16 academic year. During that time I struggled tremendously with severe mental health challenges that prevented me from participating in my studies. In trying to overcome these difficulties, I went to detox, then a homeless shelter, a 3 month treatment program (June-August) and have lived in abstinence-based transitional housing up to this date. Considering the magnitude of the challenge of overcoming my crippling addiction, I had no choice but to direct all my energies towards rebuilding my life and my mental state and have therefore been unable to focus on filing academic appeals until this point. I am now in a good healthy state having stayed clean for a good length of time and having put enormous time and effort towards preparing myself to return to a life of normalcy. Your kind consideration is much appreciated.
