Academic Plan
In anticipation of a possible concern regarding whether or not I have missed evaluations or am too far behind to complete the work necessary to fulfil the course requirements, I note that this course is a full year research course and Professor Pare has decided that 50 of my mark is to be based on laboratory participation and training and the other 50 will be based on a seminar and a major written report discussing the findings of the research project which will be due in April of 2018. This is an important part of why I believe that my appeal should be granted as I won¿¿t be required to submit my 50 project until April of 2018. In addition, the course outline that the two relevant Professors wrote explains that I am required to attend seminars hosted every week from other professors or master students, and even though I am not officially enrolled in the 540 course, I have been fulfilling this requirement. I am being trained in the lab by the head lab coordinator and will have completed the Introduction to Animal Care course that is required in order to work with laboratory animals by October 20th. Therefore, I respectfully submit that I am not behind on any of the course requirements and will be able to meet the course requirements set out by Professor Pare and described in the course outline.
Finally, I want to stress that this course is not only needed in order for me to obtain my degree in Biology, but, also, the experience and possible references that I will receive from Professors I will be working with will be crucial when I am applying for graduate programs. Accordingly, it is a very important course for my education at Queens and beyond and I sincerely hope that you will grant my appeal request.
