Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean of Studies,
I am a second year Arts and Science student and I am trying to appeal to add Health 101. I would like to add Health 101 because I
would really like to major in it. My major is now declared as Geography yet I don't want to actually major in it. I took Health 101 last year but did not receive a grade that was good enough that would allow me to major it, therefor I would just like to re take it. I have already been to 2 out of the 3 lectures in the past couple weeks so that I would keep up on the course material. As well as started to read the Health textbook.
I have been in contact at the lectures with Dr.Power, as she has given me permission to get into the class. She said that she would email you separately. I was unable to add the class because I was gone away to a family wedding in Cuba from September 11th until September 18th. When I returned on the Friday I tried yet again to add the class to my schedule but it was still full. As soon that I seen it was full, I emailed Cindy Butts and asked her what I could possibly do in my case since I was not back on campus yet and who I could further contact. I feel that by missing only one class would not affect me because I have already taken the course in the past.
If I were to be able to add this class, I can assure you that I will put lots of hard work in it, to ensure that I am able to major in it at the end of the year. I have received permission from the Undergraduate Chair, Anna van der Meulen, and as well as the Health Professor, Dr.Power, who should be emailing you very shortly.
