Petition Letter
Hello,
My name is Eric Meche and I am a first-year student at Queen's University. In preparation for PSYC 100 midyear exam I studied for countless hours and felt confident going into the exam. Even after writing my exam I was confident that I had done well on the exam. However, two weeks later when I received my mark I was in disbelief with how low it was marks. I was especially shocked with how poorly I did on the short answer portion of the exam. Once I arrived back to Queens after the Christmas break I went to go see my exam to see where I went wrong. After going over the exam with the TA who marked my short answer question I was baffled with how hard the short answer portion of the exam was marked. As I read through my short answers and compared them with the correct answers which were provided to me by the TA I was confused as to why I didn¿¿t receive certain marks. For some of my short answer question I understood why I received 0.5/2 or 1/2, however, for other question I felt I deserved 1.5/2. Specifically, I felt I deserved more marks on questions 1,2,4 and 6. As I am writing this appeal letter 4 days after meeting with my TA I can¿¿t remember exactly what the correct answers were so I will do my best to explain where I feel I deserve extra marks. In question 1 of the short answer portion I feel I explained my answer in enough detail in part D to receive an extra 0.5, as my answer is extremely similar to the answer sheet. In question 2 I feel that in part ii of the question I again deserve an extra 0.5 as my answer is again very similar to the one on the answer sheet. In question 6 I am aware my definition of ¿¿habituation¿ is in correct, however my example provided to explain habituation I feel is correct. Below I attached all eight of my short answer questions along with the grades I received on all 8 questions. Please let me know if there is anything else that I need to send or add to you guys. Thank you for taking the time to read my appeal letter and hopefully you will be able to adjust some of my marks.
