Petition Letter
I am writing to appeal for Aegrotat (AG) Standing for ARTH 242, and ENIN 301, and Credit (CR) Standing for ARTH 345. I have been suffered from severe anxiety from October 2017. The health issue made me unable to attend most of my classes because sometimes I could not even get off the bed, and I would spend most of my time sleeping, worrying about things, or crying. The anxiety also made it extremely hard for me to concentrate on my assignments, therefore I was not able to submit my final assignments for ARTH 242 and ENIN 301. As to ARTH 345, although I submitted all the course works, I was not able to achieve marks that I desired because of the absence. I did not seek for accommodations for these classes during fall 2017 because I had trouble confronting professors, and sending emails made me extremely nervous, sometime nauseous. I met Doctor Peter Bettle from Student Wellness Services in November and December, and I am planning to meet him again in early February. I have also been taking anxiolytic since November and I will continue taking the medication through out this term. Last week, Professor Cathleen Hoeniger encouraged me to submit a request for academic consideration for extenuating circumstances for this term so that I would not need to send emails to professors individually to explain my situation. Hopefully I will receive accommodations to better my academic performance.
Writing this appeal takes a lot of effort for me and I really hope my appeal will be granted. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Ying Yu Lan.
