Petition Letter
I am requesting that I be added to MATH 111. This class is required for my major, and when I originally attempted to sign up for it, before the deadline, it was full. Only after the deadline to add classes had passed did open spots appear in the course.
I sat in on a class on 9/29, and understood 100 of the content. I have taken courses in high school similar to the this, and feel that I would be able to catch up relatively quickly and easily. Since there has already been an assignment and there will be a test this Thursday, I will hopefully be added to this class in time to complete these. Currently there are 5 available seats in MATH 111.
I was originally in the cognitive science stream for Computing, yet after my first assignment and few weeks in Linguistics 100, I have realized even more how I am by far a math person rather than an English/arts. I have since dropped Linguistics, the only course that conflicted with MATH 111, so I have no conflicts as of now. I am very much enjoying and excelling in my Discrete Math course, but am struggling to understand the content of LING 100. I would much much rather be in MATH 111, a class that I can understand, enjoy, and that is integral to my major.
