Petition Letter
Dear Dr. Johanne Bénard (Associate Dean),
I am appealing to drop DEVS 100 (Fall/Winter 2018), DEVS 221 (Winter 2018), DEVS 250 (Winter 2018), and SOCY 122 (Fall/Winter 2018).
I went through a very complicated situation starting in December 2017 that carried into the semester. The situation was very disturbing and I believe that I have been traumatized by what I have been through. My academic functioning was severely impaired. Throughout the semester I was having difficulty completing academic tasks, being in class, and I found it very difficult to pay attention and learn new information. I was unable to complete assignments or study for tests or exams, and I have barely submitted any of my work this semester.
If my appeal is granted, I plan to retake DEVS 100 in the summer and the other DEVS courses next year, as I am taking steps to heal from the circumstances I faced. After speaking with a counsellor at school, I have been directed to services available in my area that I will use in the summer time before the fall semester.
Regards,
