Petition Letter
During the April exam period, all exams on Sunday, April 15th were cancelled and rescheduled due to the ice storm in Kingston which was completely out of my control. As a result of that my politics 110B final exam was cancelled and rescheduled for Sunday, April 22nd. My flight and travel home was scheduled for Tuesday, April 17th and I have now returned home to Vancouver and am unable to make the rescheduled exam as rebooking travel would be very expensive. Students who were unable to take the rescheduled exam were given the option of deferring and taking it in September. Unfortunately for me I will be transferring universities and will not be returning to Queen's in the fall so I cannot take the deferred exam either. In order to take steps to try and deal with this situation, I have been in contact with my professor who referred me to Michelle Gallant in the faculty office who suggested that I submit an appeal. The other courses I took this term, Gender, race, and Popular Culture (Gnds) and Intro to Sociology (Socy) were not affected because Gnds did not have a final exam and Socy's exam was not cancelled. I am requesting aegrotat standing for Pols 110B because of these extenuating circumstances.
