Petition Letter
Dear Dr. Horton,
I wish to take CISC 203 Discrete Mathematics for Computing Science. I have spoken to Professor Robin Dawes and have been given permission to take the course. Due to personal issues I have found it difficult to take MATH 231 Differential Equations and STAT 268 Statistics and Probability 1 and I have dropped these courses. I have discussed this with Professor Greg Smith, the Math Undergraduate Chair. I feel I can handle the addition of CISC 203 as it is not as difficult as the two math courses that I dropped, and as well I feel that MATH 110 Linear Algebra was sufficient preparation for this course. I have been attending the lectures for this course since September 25. I wrote the first test on October 6 and I feel that that went very well.
There is currently space in CISC 203 to allow me to take it. The course previously conflicted with MATH 231 which prevented me from enrolling in it until after I had come to the decision to drop MATH 231. This is my first time making such an appeal. I understand I will have to pay the full tuition cost for this course.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Richard Millson
