Academic Plan
I do not worry about this issue in the future as the friends in question are now receiving the help they need and will be living in more supportive environments with close friends rather than simply in single rooms on West Campus. In regard to attempting to salvage my GPA and looking at future courses I wish to take, I have already enrolled in the online summer BIO103 section and PSYC100 in order to boost my GPA and ensure I will have the pre-requisites I need for courses next year. My goal at the beginning of this year was to major in Life Sciences with the intention of applying to med school, and while my current GPA is just high enough for me to qualify for the pending list I do not think it realistic for me to be currently accepted into that major. However, helping my friends through their medical issues has shown me just how much I would like to become a doctor and Life Sciences is the best route to get there. With this in mind, I have also contacted the Associate Dean of Life Sciences and Biochemistry, Dr. Kawaja, in order to discuss with him personally my extenuating circumstances and hopefully receive approval to enter the program.
