Petition Letter
I am submitting an appeal to waive the 21-day deadline for appealing a course instructor's grading decision. I received my final grade on April 26th. I wanted to wait until after I had met with the instructor and gone over my final exam before I made any decisions. As I had to schedule an appointment that worked for both myself and the instructor (I don't live in the Kingston area and work full-time) I wasn't able to meet with the instructor until May 15th. After being unsatisfied with the meeting I had with my instructor, I then contacted the Associate Dean of Studies, Dr. Benard and her first availability to talk was May 23rd. After our conversation outlining my concerns with the grading of my final examination, Dr. Benard agreed I had a case for appeal and advised me to do so, however, that was past the 21-day deadline. I was away for a week from the 24th until June 1st which is why my appeal is just being submitted now. Thank you for considering my appeal to waive the 21-day deadline, I greatly appreciate it.
