Academic Plan
I am back on my ADHD medication as of a month and a half ago. I know this will help me stay focused and concentrate on my studies. I think I was embarrassed to have to depend on the medication to get through school and everyday life but I am trying to move past that and see it more in a positive light than as a misfortune. Through the Queen¿¿s website, I found a service called ASUS Peer Tutoring that I have looked into and would most definitely like to pursue if I am granted my appeal.
I would like to look at this next year as a fresh start. I would want to go into the year as an undeclared major so I can really take the time needed to find out what my passion is. I would need to do an extra year to make up for my low GPA and make up for my lack of a full course load this past year. I would also part-take in summer classes next summer to help ease my course load during the school year and set enough time for peer tutoring. I would also allocate specific times to exercise as I have come to discover this is a great stress outlet for me. During the school year I am lucky enough I don¿¿t need to work. My parents fully support me. During the summer I work part-time. This will allow me to balance time required for summer courses. With an extra year and 3 summers of summer courses I am confident these steps will allow me to raise my GPA.
Besides my setback in my second semester, I absolutely love Queens University. I had such an amazing first year getting to know myself better as well as making new lifelong friends in a thriving environment. It would mean so much to me if I were reinstated for second year. Please understand that I am a good person and a good student. I want to show Queens, my family, and my friends the academic success I know I can achieve. I hope you will grant me this second chance.
Thank you for considering this appeal.
Sincerely,
Larkin Walters
