Academic Plan
For my next academic semester, I plan to change my degree from Life Science specialization to a major. This will lighten my course load and allow me to take 9.00 units in core courses (PHGY214, STAT361) and the remaining 27.00 units in electives. Some of the electives that I plan to take were previously taken by my friends whom will help me out if I am struggling in the course. I am also planning to take 9.00 units during the summer (July - August 2018). So that I can take 12.00 units in first semester and 15.00 units in second semester. For my electives I plan to take classics courses, math courses, and health studies along with other courses. I will also take advantage of the resources provided on campus, such as the writing center and the TAs. I will also go to office hours more frequently. I will also follow up with an academic advisor to ensure that I am doing all that I can do to keep my grades high. Regarding my financial situation I will save up as much as I can with my summer job and I will apply for bursaries and financial assistance from the Student Awards Office. Additionally, I will ask to be referred for a psychiatric consultation periodically and visit the student wellness centre on a more regular basis to ensure that I do not relapse to my negative behaviours which cause me to neglect my studies.
