Academic Plan
After the end of the school year, there was a bit of improvement in my condition and so I was able to reach out to my family doctor in Toronto and get a referral to an intensive outpatient mental health day program at North York General Hospital for the summer. Since then there has been a marked improvement overall and I was able to get the psychiatric and personal support that I needed this past summer.
For my future plan I request that the winter 2018 courses be dropped and for the ability to finish the rest of my degree credit requirements at Universities in Toronto. My plan is to stay in Toronto with my family and where the rest of my personal support system so that I would be able to better manage my mental and physical health. I will also be attending a regular weekly mental health programs as referred by my Psychiatrist as a follow up to the completed summer day program. As the best resources and supports for me are in Toronto, I believe that if I were able to finish my program requirements here that I will have a better chance of success with my academic work. This way I am also allowed more flexibility so that I can take courses at the pace and load that works best with my treatment. I love what I study, and I want to find a way to both get the help I need but also finish my degree.
