Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean,
This letter is a request to enrol in BIOL369, Sex and Evolution, for this semester (Fall 2018). I understand that this request is after the add/drop deadline. This course is one that I was interested in taking for the past two years, but was unable to as I did not have the proper prerequisites. In the weekly newsletter today, I noticed a post stating that one of the prerequisites had changed to include a course that I had already taken, making me eligible to enrol in the course. I am finding myself struggling immensely in a course I am currently in, NSCI429, and I am not enjoying the learning process at all. I am finding myself constantly anxious in the small class size and unable to participate, hindering my ability to really engage with the material. The biology course that I am requesting to join is both materials that I have been interested to study about along with a professor that I have had in the past, Dr. Chippenade, and have greatly enjoyed learning with. If granted this opportunity I know that I would have a much better experience in this course, and it would allow me to also explore this field as an area of interest for a masters project next year.
