Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean,
My name is Jeffrey Allen and I am a fourth year history student at Queen's University. I am writing to you today to request permission to enrol in the online course, HIST 263.
I was unable to enrol in this course during the standard enrollment period due to the course being entirely full. However, after looking at the course again on SOLUS, I noticed that there are now three open positions in the course. I would love the opportunity to enrol in this course as the material is that in which I am very interested in, and have not yet had the chance to take at Queen's in my four years here.
I also wish to enrol in this class as I am preparing to apply to different law schools in Ontario this upcoming year. Many of the Ontario law schools take into consideration the course load that students take in their third and fourth years, and as of no, I would only be taking three classes this semester. Being able to enrol in HIST 263 would allow me to have four courses and thus, a more full course load.
I believe that despite entering this class later than some of the other students I would be more than able to complete any of the work that I have missed. I have also spoken to the course professor via email and she expressed the same belief. I have proven my abilities to perform well in history courses such as HIST 263 in my past three years at Queen's, achieving A level grades in nearly all history classes I have taken.
I apologize for this inconvenience and I look forward to hearing back from you,
Thank you,
Jeffrey Allen
