Petition Letter
Dear Associate Deans,
I am appealing to drop STAT263. (Fall, 2018).
I caught a cold which came along with a stye on the lower eyelid of my left eye, four days before the final exam. I was in poor health conditions, and I believed I would not perform as well as before (I had 80 on mid-term and 100 on all my quizzes) since this course required me to do a lot of practice and memorization of formulas. I had three DRAM100 writing responses due after the STAT263 exam, leaving me little time to prepare for a make-up exam. I also decided to change my major from Economics to Arts History, and so STAT263 is no longer a required course for me. Retaking it would be a waste of time, as I do need to take more ARTH related courses in the future semesters in order to have enough units for the degree plan. Therefore, I think that dropping this course is the most helpful and beneficial option for me.
