Academic Plan
As I spent the first semester back at home, I have had time to reflect and work on myself to become capable of continuing my studies for second term. I was able to relearn necessary skills that help me cope with my mental health and become healthier both physically and emotionally. I have found a wonderful therapist here in Kingston who has worked at Queen's in the past that I will see on a weekly basis to keep myself in check, I have her information if you would like to hear from her. I have also spoken with my academic advisor in both the education and drama faculties and have created a plan for the next steps in my education that will support my success here at Queen's. As the first semester was spent at home, I have been able to regain my desire and confidence in finishing my post-secondary program and I hope to have the chance to enroll in classes this semester. Both my family doctor and my parents strongly support my decision to appeal this probationary period as they believe staying home and being idle is going to affect me negatively. Enrolling in this semester's classes would aid me in finishing my degree sooner and, in my opinion, would be the best route of action. Being on academic probation has lit a fire in me to finish my degree so I am able to teach - this is my passion and it is what I would like to spend my life doing. I thank you for taking time out of your day to read my appeal and I hope you consider letting me back in for the Winter Term.

Avery Barth
