Petition Letter
Hi,
I am requesting to add the course POLS 332 after the admission deadline. Due to me being an exchange student I was already late to confirm my classes and unfortunately many of the ones I had selected were full or did not involve the type of work that my home university would want me to do (a third year module with preferably coursework). I talked frequently with the international programs office as to which courses I should take, as well as the history department. Neither could provide me with any specifics to what was involved in courses so it was a recurring process of looking at a module, emailing the lecturer for the syllabus and finding out that it did not meet the specifications. I am on an history exchange course here at queens so I was told by my home university that is should ideally be doing two history courses a term, unfortunately I could not be provided this as by the time I was able to select courses they were either full, clashed with existing classes or were not relevant to my course. However I do joint honours back home with politics and so when trying to find my final class I contacted politics professors to see if I could be accepted on to a more relevant course in their department. I ended up being allowed by professor Korycki to join her POLS 332 course (and have copied in the email received by her as proof alongside) although as I am an exchange student and do not have the specifics credentials listed on the online system Solus would not let me join the course due to this technical glitch and is henceforth why I am writing this appeal. Since I have received the confirmation by professor Korycki however I have been attended get the classes. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing back, regards,
