Petition Letter
To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Arveen Aujla and I am a returning first year student in the Arts & Sciences Faculty. Earlier this semester, I had a deferred final exam scheduled for PSYC 100 on January, 12, 2019; which was a course I took the previous year. However, I had to unfortunately miss that scheduled exam due to a psychological challenge that was out of my control and prevented me from getting out of my building, and this also prevented me from getting help right away. In fact, due to the same challenge, I am ending the 2018-2019 school year off having completed zero courses, unfortunately. Once I started to feel better, which was a few weeks after the scheduled PSYC exam, I reached out to my General Practitioner who I see at Student Wellness Services at Queen¿¿s to get help. She has given me a form which outlines the reasons why I haven¿¿t been able to complete course work for the courses I was enrolled in this Winter 2019 semester. I am seeing my doctor again in a week, and I will talk to her about getting further documentation that can explain that my condition began earlier, as soon as the Winter 2019 semester had begun, which prevented me from writing the exam. I will add that documentation to this appeal as soon as I receive it. For the time being, I wanted to write this letter and make the situation known as soon as possible.
For the previously mentioned unforeseen circumstances I have been facing, I would like to request a consideration to allow me to reschedule a re-write for the PSYC 100 Final Exam, so that I can finally get the credit for this course. I hope we can make that happen as I am regaining my focus to achieving academic success in my studies. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Arveen Aujla
