Petition Letter
To Whom It May Concern
I would like to drop my LAW 207 class. I know that I am a few days behind the deadline and that is because I fallen very behind in my online law course. I have not received grades that are at par with the rest of my academic history due to the fact that this is an online course. I have several learning disabilities that are making it very hard to follow the material the way it is set out online. In addition, I need a lot of extra help for assignments and even content that I do not understand, with an online course you do not receive that kind of feedback. I thought I would be able to stay on top of the work but my academic disabilities are making it very hard to keep up and understand the material. I find it very hard to watch videos and take notes, as this is my only method of learning in the course, making it extremely hard to write the quizzes and assignments. My accommodation letter outlines that I have trouble following along in class due to my ADHD and trouble remembering information right when processed through my brain. I didn't know that I would have to drop this course but it has been hard to get feedback from the professor for an upcoming assignment and I am still waiting to hear from a past assignment that I didn't understand. This method of learning, while taking in class, and a full course load has proven to be a lot more than I can handle. I tried my best to push through and give it a chance but it has effected my school anxiety so much that I am no longer able to take this course if I want to finish my other courses up to par with my academic goals and history. I really do not want this dropped class to show up on my transcript, I am not sure how this works as I am only a few days past the deadline and I have extenuating academic circumstances.
