Petition Letter
Hello, I have spoken to my WRIT 120 professor and they have suggested that I attempt to late/no fault drop the course, as a consequence of my ongoing disability. In essence, I have a genetic eye disease in which is on file with my academic considerations in which at times limits my ability to complete assignments/attend class. In the first two weeks of march, I had received eye injections as I do once a month, and was not able to see or complete any work for two weeks. Subsequently, I missed several deadlines in the course, in which I had informed the instructor about. When debating the next course of action, my professor suggested that I late/no fault drop the class, as I have not been able to perform several tasks online. I am at the point in the course where I will not be able to catch up as a consequence of the several mishaps with my eye disease, and was hoping I could drop the course without fault. Unfortunately, as in other classes I have the ability to simply sit and listen, and complete tasks orally; this was not the circumstance granted my online WRIT 120 course. In most instances I believe I receive good marks overall when I am able to perform the task I am assigned. It upsets me to have to do this, but I have spent the week contemplating it and attempting to catch up to no avail.
Thank you for your consideration,
