Petition Letter
To the Associate Dean (Studies),
I am appealing to waive the requirement to withdraw.
As you are aware, I have outlined my mental health issues in my last appeal and continue to experience symptoms as detailed in the documentation. However, I am in treatment right now with my doctor (medication) and have been responding well. In the documentation I provided in my last appeal my doctor states that I have been experiencing extenuating circumstances that make it difficult for me to perform to the best of my abilities academically. These symptoms I have been experiencing are ongoing, and although they make it difficult for me to sleep, concentrate and focus consistently, I am working towards achieving my degree. As it stands, I have two courses that register (F) as the grade, and one with an Incomplete. However, these should be changed soon as the outstanding work is graded. Hopefully, these grades will raise my GPA so that it has passed the 1.6 necessary to graduate. These courses, along with my course in the spring (FRST 105) will fulfill the credits necessary to complete my degree. If my GPA is not at the appropriate level when all of the final grades are in, I am appealing to waive the requirement to withdraw so that I am able to continue in my studies provided that the spring course (FRST 105) once again raises my GPA to the required standards and allows me to graduate.
Thank you for your consideration once again,
