Academic Plan
If I am allowed to return to my studies in the fall, I will:
1. At the start of the year, make QSAS and my professors aware of my medical conditions. Unlike before I¿¿m willing and able to use the resources provided by Queen¿¿s in order to help me succeed such as office hours provided by professors, tutors in struggling subjects and academic counselling when I need guidance.
2. Continue my appointments with my therapist in Ottawa through digital counselling. During the summer I am continuing to build my confidence and break down previously established walls and depressive tendencies through my weekly therapy.
3. Visit remicade clinic set up in Kingston on a bimonthly basis and checkups with my gastroenterologist to make sure my health stays stable.
4. Retake some first and second year courses to improve my overall GPA while initially taking a reduced course load in order to gauge my own capabilities for continuing forward. Biology is still where my dreams and aspirations lie, focusing my studies in said field and improving prior grades to ones that both the Faculty of Arts & Science as well as myself deem above acceptable.
5. Assign specific times based around my daily schedule for studying, doing readings and assignments. My housing situation for next year is very much focused on academic prowess and structure, currently going to be living alongside a PhD student as well as a teacher¿¿s college student on King Street.
I am determined to completely focus on my academic career and truly believe I have great potential and ambition which I can achieve through my pursuit and commitment to my studies at Queen¿¿s University. I would greatly appreciate another opportunity for proving my growth and development since my starting at Queen¿¿s University and won¿¿t let down the faculty or myself any longer.
