Petition Letter
I am writing to appeal the requirement to withdraw for one year. This year at Queens I was subject to many challenges that were out of my control. Over the course of this year I experienced a great deal of stress, along with physical health complications. My parents were going through an unexpected divorce. As a result of that, I was forced to go back and forth from Toronto to Kingston frequently to be with my family. In addition to that, October I was informed that my aunt, whom had been terminally ill, had passed away. Also during second semester I was diagnosed with strep throat. Due to these extenuating circumstances, it compromised my mental and physical health to the point where it began to affect my academic performance. With that being the case, the fact remains, it has always been my passion to attend Queen¿¿s University and earn a degree from the school, the unforeseen events that I was subject to this year put me in unimaginable positions. Now that school has been over a couple of weeks I have taken the time to reflect and refocus. I have taken steps to insure that should my requirement to withdraw be waived, I will have a successful future at Queen¿¿s when school resumes this upcoming September.
